Resurfacing works on Langton Way have now been completed. The scheme — running from the junction with Stephen Close to Huntingfield Way — was carried out over approximately three days in April, keeping a promise we made to residents back in 2024.
This wasn’t just about Langton Way itself. The route is used daily by families getting home and children getting to school across the wider Hythe community, and the old surface had been generating recurring patching costs, particularly at the junction with Barons Way. A proper resurfacing resolves both.
Surrey Highways’ contractors managed resident access throughout the closure, and we’re grateful to everyone who kept the road clear of parked vehicles — it made the job run smoothly and efficiently.
What’s coming next
There are further schemes we’re bringing forward across the division over the coming months. In some areas, including around the Glanty Roundabout, we’re waiting for scheduled utility works to finish before committing to resurfacing — the right approach to make sure public money isn’t wasted on surfaces that would then be immediately dug up.
We’ll continue to update residents as those schemes are confirmed.
